Adopting Open Educational Resources (OER) may feel intimidating or overwhelming.
In this talk, we’ll use the concept of Small & Ugly OER to reframe OER adoption as a series of small, intentional steps rather than an all-or-nothing shift. We’ll focus on using open pedagogy to transform a "disposable" assignment into a "renewable assignment," where students create content that can be openly licensed and shared -- empowering them to become active creators and contributors of educational materials that have value beyond the classroom, rather than just consumers of knowledge.
