Around Campus

  • CSS - The Center for Student Success includes: Undergraduate Advising, The Center for Global Education(CGA), The Office Accessibility Services (OAS), and the Career Education
    Center (CEC)
  • CEC - Career Education Center, located on the first floor of the School of Management building. The CEC helps students with resumes, jobs, and graduate school information and applications.
  • LEF or L - Lefavour Hall or Library
  • LKP - Linda K. Paresky Center located on the 3rd floor on the Main College Building in the East Wing.
  • MCB - Main College Building
  • PCB or P - Palace Road Building
  • SCB or S - Park Science Center

* The first number or a classroom or meeting space refers to what floor it is on. So if you are assigned to a class that meets in S215 that means your class is in the Park Science Center on the second floor.

  • S - Intermediate grades given upon completion of one semester of a full year course

  • W - Approved Withdrawal
  • RW - Required Withdrawal

Graduate Grades

School of Business:
Standard letter grades (ABCDF, plus and minus) are used.
Prior to 2000, the grades were assigned as:

  • DI — Distinction
  • HP — High Pass
  • SA — Satisfactory
  • LP — Low Pass
  • P — Pass
  • F - Failure

SSW:
Students may choose either the Pass/Fail option or the letter grade. The Doctor of Philosophy program only offers the Pass/Fail grading option.

  • P — Pass
  • MP — Marginal Pass
  • F — Fail
  • S — Intermediate grade given upon completion of one semester of a full year course
  • W — Withdrawal
  • RW — Required Withdrawal

  • CPL - Credits for Prior Learning. Opportunity for Dix Scholars to receive academic credit for knowledge gained though life experience. CPL is affiliated with Undergraduate Admissions.

  • TCE - Transfer Credit Evaluation. All transfer students who submit their transcripts from a previous institution will have their transcript evaluated and we will determine which courses/credits will be accepted at Simmons.
