Kemarah Sika

'08MS - Library and Information Science, Chief Program Officer at YW Boston

Kemarah joined YW Boston in April of 2017. As Chief Programs Officer at YW Boston, she leads the team that oversees all DEI Services and Youth Programs. Kemarah has 20 years of experience in non-profit management, curriculum, and program development for corporations, non-profits, government, and schools. With a master's degree in Library and Information Science, she holds a passion for life-long learning, teaching, and advocacy. Social justice work and women's empowerment initiatives have formed the foundation of her career.

As a Boston native and lifelong resident, Kemarah has devoted herself to creating programs and learning experiences that invite individuals to build skills, increase knowledge, change behaviors, and develop communication frameworks for problem-solving. Kemarah has leveraged her vast experience working in various educational settings to create a toolkit for designing flexible learning environments where people are encouraged to identify their strengths, organize their knowledge, and tackle their challenges.

Kemarah's most recent endeavors include serving on community and private school boards and serving as the finance director for the Massachusetts House Representative of the 12th Suffolk district.

Kemarah participated in the Spring 2021 Mentors-in-Residence panel, Leveraging the Power of Our Voices: Antiracism in Action, and spoke at a private class session for COMM 323: Digital Cultures
