Nominate a Black Alumnae/i Symposium Award Recipient

The Awards Committee of the Simmons Black Alumnae/i Symposium invites all Simmons alumnae/i to submit nominations for awards honoring members of our alumnae/i community.

Help identify individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership in their professional and/or civic fields of endeavor, and whose unique, outstanding contributions to their present community are an inspiration to others.

Update: The deadline to submit nominations has passed. Awardees will be announced at the Brunch and Awards Ceremony as part of the Black Alumnae/i Symposium.

Below are the four categories of awards:

  • "Celebrating Our Greatness" Professional Leadership Award(s): Recognizes one or more members of the Simmons alumnae/i community of African descent whose leadership, knowledge, skill, and/or innovation distinguishes them in their field of professional endeavor.
  • Distinguished Recent Alumna/us Award: Recognizes an alumna/us of African descent who has graduated within the last 10 years, whose professional and/or civic contributions have had a significant impact.
  • Gwen Ifill Trailblazer Award: Recognizes an alumna/us of African descent who has set the tone of excellence within their professional field or area of expertise. The recipient will embody the level of professionalism and integrity exhibited by Ms. Ifill throughout her time at Simmons, as well as in her career.
  • Quiet Leader Recognition Award(s): Recognizes one or more members of the alumnae/i community of African descent who make a difference and contribute to the greater good of their community.
