Simmons Dietetic Internship Partnerships (MS/DI)

Simmons has partnered with select dietetic internship programs to offer an expedited pathway for applying to both our MS in Nutrition and Health Promotion program and an affiliated dietetic internship.

How does the partnership work?

Students work on academic requirements for the MS program with Simmons and dietetic internship requirements with the affiliated DI program. The sequence of MS coursework and DI rotations varies by affiliated program, as do start dates and program length. Please see partner-specific information for details.

Who is eligible?

Anyone who has completed an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) with a verification statement of completion, or is on track to complete the DPD program before the start of the MS/DI program.

What are the benefits?

  • Your DICAS application will serve as application to both programs, no separate applications for the MS and internship programs.
  • If you are admitted, Simmons will reduce your enrollment deposit to $200 (a $550 reduction!) which will be credited towards the first semester of tuition.
  • You can earn your MS from Simmons through either the campus-based program or our fully online format. Both will allow students to fulfill the new eligibility requirement. Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum degree requirement for eligibility to take the registration examination for dietitians will change from a bachelor’s degree to a graduate degree.
  • All applications will be reviewed for a Simmons merit scholarship. Tuition for the 30-credit MS in Nutrition and Health Promotion program can be found on our Tuition and Fees webpage.
  • Some partnering internship programs apply coursework toward dietetic internship competencies. Please see program-specific information, or contact the affiliated DI program of interest.

How to apply

Apply through Simmons’ Dietetic Inclusive Centralized Application Services (DICAS) portal, indicate your desire to apply to the Simmons MS program and one or more of the affiliated dietetic internship programs, and complete supplemental forms for any affiliated programs requiring them. If admitted, you will be offered admission to the Simmons MS program and the highest ranked internship program that accepts you.
