At Simmons Health Services, our mission is to maintain and enhance the health of the Simmons student body through comprehensive and accessible primary health care.

We endeavor to support students in the pursuit of their academic and personal growth through promotion of healthy behaviors and lifestyle choices. 

We hope to accomplish these goals in an inclusive Health Center environment that is welcoming and supportive of all Simmons students.

Update: Vaping Public Health Emergency

There are currently 1,479 cases across the US, including 33 deaths. The Governor of Massachusetts has declared a public health emergency and issued a ban on the sale of vape products. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) and the CDC are monitoring the situation and providing ongoing updates. 

Causes and Symptoms

The exact cause has not yet been identified. What we know is that all patients have reported a history of vaping, with the majority using THC-containing products. Symptoms include:

  • cough
  • shortness of breath
  • chest pain
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • abdominal pain
  • diarrhea
  • fatigue
  • fever
  • weight loss
