Move-In

We can't wait to welcome you to Simmons!

If you have any questions leading up to move-in day, feel free to send us an email.

Mandatory Community Meeting

All new students are required to attend one community meeting on the day that they move into their residence hall. Residents will meet the staff, learn about residence hall services and policies and discuss how to successfully become part of the residence hall community.

Community meetings will be offered virtually. Residents will be emailed with further details by their Area Coordinators.

Move-In Information

We plan for students new to housing to move in from 9am-11am on Saturday, January 15, 2022. In order to move in, residents must complete the following steps:

  1. Submit your day and intended time of arrival to campus
  2. If you haven't already, submit your COVID-19 vaccination status by Monday, January 10th. You must meet one of the following criteria:
    1. Full immunization record submitted via the Student Health Portal
    2. Approved exemption on file with Health Services (For more information about exemption, contact [email protected])
    3. If you are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and are not approved for an exemption, you must submit a signed attestation confirming ONE of the following:
      • You have received the first dose of a 2-dose vaccine regimen, and you commit to receiving your second dose as scheduled.
      • You are unable to get any COVID vaccine prior to your arrival, and you commit to receiving the vaccine immediately upon arrival at Simmons.
      • You are an international student who has received a non-WHO approved vaccine, and you commit to receiving an approved vaccine as soon as you are eligible.
    4. If you have questions regarding immunizations requirements, please contact the Health Center at 617-521-1020 or [email protected].
  3. Upload proof of the required booster (picture of vaccination card) at myhealth.simmons.edu.
  4. Complete COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your arrival to campus and upload results via CoVerified

        2. Choose "Reports"
        3. Select "Report Test Result".
        4. Enter the information and a PDF or screenshot of your information
    2. If you receive a positive result, you must contact the Health Center to make them aware of your status and complete your isolation period at home.
    3. Pre-arrival testing can be completed on campus through January 10-14.
      • Example: If you plan to arrive on January 15 at 9am, the earliest you can test is January 12 at 9am to be within the required 72 hour window.
      • Please note: Residents will not be able to move-in early during this time, but they can come to campus to complete a test.
    4. If you are experiencing difficulty securing a pre-arrival test, you will be required to test immediately upon arrival and quarantine in your room except to get food or to use the restroom until the negative test result has come back from the arrival test. Quarantine may last 2-3 days, depending on the length of time required to get the test result.

      • Check-in hours will be 9am-5pm Saturday, January 15 - Monday, January 17.
      • Residents seeking an exception to these hours, should contact the Office of Residence Life at [email protected].
    7. Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to permit friends and family to be on campus to help residents move-in. There will be one gate staffed by Residence Life and Public Safety where residents can receive extra belongings from friends and family, who pull up their cars on Pilgrim Road and drop items off curbside for resident pickup.

Please note: Residents arriving Tuesday or afterward must check in through the Office of Residence Life, located on the Residence Campus on the second floor of the Health Center building, between the hours of 9:30am-5:30pm Tuesday - Friday.
