Hi! My name is Katie and I am rather new to Simmons. I have been working in the adjunct role as a Simulation Instructor for the past year, but just recently transitioned into a full-time role as the Simulation Coordinator. I work with all pre-licensure nursing students in the simulation lab.
I have been a Registered Nurse for about 7 years. My career began working in California at Kaiser Permanente, where I entered a new graduate program for the med/surg float pool. After gaining some valuable experience, I decided to move back to Boston and began working in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. I have since been in the MICU for 5 years and remain per diem in this role.
When I am not teaching or working in the hospital, I enjoy reading and spending time with my dog. I love traveling and have been to 20 US National Parks (and counting!)
