Simmons Commends Decision to Rescind ICE Guidance Targeting International Students

The U.S. Flag outside of the Main College Building

Just as we were proud to join other higher education institutions in signing an amicus brief opposing this guidance, we will continue to stand with our students and be a voice on these critical issues.

Simmons University is grateful for the partnership and commitment of hundreds of universities in support of the decision to rescind the guidance targeting international students issued by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

So many higher education institutions, states and voices have come together to demonstrate the vital role international students play on our campuses and in our communities. We were deeply concerned about the guidance and were already engaged in submitting a joint amicus brief with other Presidents in opposition to it.

Simmons University acknowledges how the diversity of experiences and identities enriches our lives and our learning. Inclusion and equity remain key guiding principles for who we are, how we live, learn and lead and who we are becoming. Just as we were proud to join other higher education institutions in signing an amicus brief opposing this guidance, we will continue to stand with our students and be a voice on these critical issues. We know that there is still work to be done, and we will be contacting our international students once we have more details on the full application of this decision.
