Amanda Russell

Area Coordinator

Amanda Russell (she/her/hers) is the Area Coordinator for Area 2, which consists of Smith, Morse and Mesick halls. Originally from Manhattan, New York, Russell has lived in five states and counting and lives with her dog, Emily. Feel free to say hi if you see her around campus! Russell received her Bachelors degree from Salem State University in English and Early Childhood Education with a psychology minor and her Masters degree from Columbia University in Higher & Postsecondary Education. As an Area Coordinator (AC), Russell oversees RA’s, aids in the everyday functions of her three residence halls, meets with students about concerns, and serves in an on-call duty rotation to ensure students are safe after hours.

Russell’s favorite Simmons tradition is Dumpling Making Night hosted by her RA’s and Dining at Bartol. Expect that to happen in the early spring and learn a new skill! Russell’s favorite part of Boston is the South End (just a ten minute drive from here). In the South End, you can find quaint streets filled with old brownstones, and amazing restaurants.
