Improve well-being of communities and populations

Are you passionate about making healthy food accessible for everyone and addressing health disparities? With our accelerated 4+1 program, you can earn both a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Health Promotion (4+1) in just five years.

In our program, you’ll study the conceptual foundations and evidence-based approaches to understanding how science, society, and health intersect. You’ll also explore solutions to improving food access, including effective policy, systems change, and interventions that reach communities.

In this program, you will:

  • Build a strong foundation in nutrition science and health promotion strategies
  • Join a diverse, inclusive learning community with small, rigorous classes
  • Benefit from close faculty mentorship and Boston-area internship connections

As an undergraduate, you’ll work with your academic advisor to map out your coursework. By completing prerequisites in your first three years and enrolling in two graduate-level courses during your senior year, you’ll save both time and tuition while preparing for an impactful career.

In your senior year, you’ll complete a capstone experience. During the fall semester, you’ll take a capstone course. In the spring, you’ll choose from three options: an internship, a one-semester research experience, or a two-semester thesis that spans your senior year. All students will present their work in a poster session and submit a final product: an internship paper, research paper, or thesis.

MS in Nutrition and Health Promotion

Simmons’ MS program in nutrition and health promotion prepares you for advanced roles in nutrition and wellness. You can choose between on-campus and fully-online study.
