Massachusetts Community College Transfers

Currently enrolled at a community college within the state of Massachusetts? If so, you might be eligible for our Simmons University Community College Excellence Scholarship (SUCCESS). Both transfer students and adult students (students over 24) are eligible for this scholarship.

Program Criteria

Students can either complete the MassTransfer General Education Foundation (34 credits) OR complete the MassTransfer General Education Foundation with an Associate’s degree (60 credits). Students completing either of these pathways and earning a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (including all post-secondary institutions), will be eligible to apply for our Transfer SUCCESS program.

  • Full-time and part-time scholarships available for those completing an Associate’s degree! Up to $20,000 for full-time and up to $10,000 for part-time
  • Students completing only the Mass Gen Education Foundation will be eligible for our regular transfer scholarship amounts (up to $17,000 for full-time students)

Students must complete these courses at Simmons:

  • SIM 201: Simmons Experience (1 credit)
  • 3-D Design Across the Curriculum - Students design cluster of 3 courses that address an issue from various perspectives using transfer and Simmons courses in combination
  • LCIS 201 & 2 LC’s: The Learning Community (8 credits)
  • Language Requirement (8 credits) - 2 semesters of the same language (can be fulfilled at community college) (Waived for Dix Scholars)
  • The Capstone (4-8 credits) - Capstone experience in your major
  • SIM 301: Excel (1 credit)

Students must complete these courses at Simmons:

  • SIM 301: Excel (1 credit)
  • 3-D Design Across the Curriculum - Students design cluster of 3 courses that address an issue from various perspectives using transfer and Simmons courses in combination
  • The Capstone (4-8 credits) - Capstone experience in your major

Application Requirements

  • Submit all required application materials for general admission.
  • Check off the box on the application that indicates you will be completing the Mass General Education Foundations and/or that you will be completing an associate’s degree from a Massachusetts community college. You will be automatically reviewed for the program!
