  1. Simmons nursing students engaging in a hands-on project during Immersion weekend

    Simmons School of Nursing students in our online programs came to campus over the summer for an Immersion experience. For insight into what this entailed, we spoke to Tina Delouchry, Professor of Practice and Director of FNP Clinical Education, and Laura Behm, Associate Professor of Practice and Director of PMHNP Clinical Education.

  2. Stephanie Wladkowski ’14PhD

    Stephanie Wladkowski ’14PhD was a clinical social worker in hospice care when policy changes impacted her clinical practice. In a search for answers, Wladkowski began her PhD in Social Work at Simmons. Her dissertation, “Dementia Caregivers and Live Discharge from Hospice: What Happens When Hospice Leaves?,” has inspired further research in the field.

  3. Kyle T. Ganson ’20PhD

    Kyle T. Ganson ’20PhD is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. As part of his studies at Simmons, he created the course “Social Work Assessment and Treatment of Eating Disorders,” to be taught in Spring 2024. We spoke to Ganson about his doctoral experience at Simmons and the inspiration behind the course.

    In her debut book, To Carry Wonder: A Memoir and Guide to Adventures in Pregnancy and Beyond, Emese Parker combines personal experience with her expertise in women's health. Her holistic approach aims to help any mother-to-be discover knowledge and inspiration.

    How can Simmons get students comfortable with their nursing skills before expecting them to perform them off-site? The University has created an 11,000 square foot Simulation Center, which includes five high fidelity simulation rooms: an obstetrician/gynecologist office (OB/GYN), a pediatric office, a medical/surgical suite, an ICU, and an ER.
