Experience Boston

The city of Boston

A university in a global city

Boston has grown considerably in the past few decades. Once viewed as a small, even provincial city, it is now a booming, global metropolis.

With that growth has come a welcome diversity in race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and national origin. Home to 300,000+ college students, Boston is often known as “America’s college town.”

Located near Fenway Park, Simmons University is close to the subway or T-station, connecting you to all parts of the city. But there's plenty to do and experience in our immediate surroundings.

What Our Students Say about Studying in Boston

Mariana Rodriguez Rivera

In my time at Simmons, I’ve worked in nonprofit organizations, a corporate firm, and in government. Through these incredibly different experiences, I’ve continuously been able to learn about what environments work best for me and what I’m passionate about pursuing after graduation.

This city has lots of opportunities for connection, exploration, and learning, especially with the number of libraries, archives, and museums. Most of the people I have met in Boston have been supportive, eager to share about their work, and willing to help and give people a chance.

I loved living on campus at Simmons. We were able to go to the Gardner Museum for free, or attend a Red Sox game for $9. It was a great undergraduate experience.
