    Recently named Dean of the Simmons University School of Nursing, Dr. Heather Shlosser has a bold vision for a transformative future for nursing education amid the current national shortage.

  3. Dr. Michael C. LaSala

    Simmons University is pleased to announce that it has selected Dr. Michael C. LaSala, PhD, LCSW to serve as Dean of the School of Social Work. Dr. LaSala will begin the transition to Simmons during the week of February 5, 2024, and his term will officially begin on July 1, 2024.

    In January 2024, Dr. Paul Geisler, formerly Professor of Health Professions Education, Associate Dean of Health Sciences, and Interim Associate Dean of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, accepted a new position as Interim Dean of the School of Sciences and Health Professions. He will become the official Dean following the School’s formal renaming on July 1, 2024.

  5. Stephanie Cosner, Russell Pinizzotto, and Kerri Brophy

    As Provost, Dr. Cosner will lead the vision and strategy for the full range of Simmons’ academic offerings, including the institution’s diverse mix of undergraduate, graduate, campus-based, and online programs. Dr. Russell Pinizzotto will serve as Chief Operating Officer and Kerri Brophy will be Vice President, Chief Marketing, Enrollment, and Communications Officer.

    Stephanie Cosner will serve as Provost to lead the vision and strategy for the full range of Simmons’ academic offerings. Russ Pinizzotto will serve as Chief Operating Officer to oversee and coordinate many of the University’s critical daily operations, including in technology, finance, and facilities.

  7. Jeffrey DeLaurentis, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations

    This year, Simmons welcome Jeffrey DeLaurentis to campus as the Warburg Chair in International Relations. In this role, DeLaurentis will be sharing his experience with the UN and Security Counsel with Simmons students.

  8. Simmons University Cupola

    The Tufts University School of Dental Medicine has received funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for a predoctoral dental training program, which includes a partnership with Simmons School of Social Work (SSW). Over the next five years, Tufts dental students and on-the-ground Simmons MSW students will work together to address vulnerable and underserved populations with complex medical and mental health issues.
