Lisa Hussey, who joined the SLIS faculty in Fall 2008. Her library experience includes academic, public, and special libraries, as well as serving as the program manager for the University of Arizona’s graduate LIS program. Lisa has also taught at the University of British Columbia, San Jose State University, and the University of Missouri, where she received her doctoral degree. Her research interests include EDIA in LIS, mentoring and professional identity in the LIS professions, and management and leadership. Lisa is the 2022 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching award from ALISE.
Lisa has contributed publications to International Journal of Information, Diversity, and Inclusion, Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, Journal of Library Administration, Library Journal, JASIST, and the Journal of Library Administration. She is an active in professional organizations, including ALISE, ASIS&T, ALA, and Beta Phi Mu, and has served in both appointed and elected positions. Lisa currently serves as the coordinator of International programs for SLIS. She has led travel courses to Seoul as part of SLIS’ partnership with Yonsei University and Rwanda in collaboration with the Maranyundo Institute in Boston.
