Fenway Cash

The pre-paid spending account, named Fenway Cash, offers a safe and convenient method of using your ID for cashless payments at on-campus and select off-campus locations.

Getting Started

Students, faculty and staff with an active Simmons Campus Card have access to a Fenway Cash account. To start taking advantage of your Fenway Cash account, you first need to register. For the registration process, you will need to have your Simmons Campus Card in hand.

Once you have registered, you may add value to your account online using a credit card.

It's easy and convenient to use Fenway Cash. Visit the Fenway card website, which features 24/7 access to manage your account including activation, balances, transaction history, notifications, and adding value by debit/credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover).

The Fenway Card Service Center is also available for assistance Monday through Friday (holidays excluded) from 8 am to 6 pm Eastern Time at 1-877-263-8340. You may also visit the Simmons Campus Card Office in the Palace Road Building, Room B-105.

Refunds

Fenway Cash remains active as long as you are affiliated with the University and as long as you have Fenway Cash remaining. If you decide to close your account, you will be issued a refund. A check will be issued via normal University procedures for any remaining balance and sent to the last permanent address on record with the University.

To apply for a refund, please contact Fenway Card customer service at 1-877-263-8340 or email them at [email protected]. If you send an email, Please include your name, ID # and mailing address in your email.

Is Fenway Cash the same thing as Parking Cash?
No it is not. Parking Cash can only be used for the Simmons Parking Garage. You cannot use your Fenway Cash account to buy Parking Cash.

What is Fenway Cash?
Fenway Cash represents money linked to your ID card. Once you purchase Fenway Cash, you may use your ID card like cash at participating vendors where Fenway Cash is accepted. When your card is swiped, the amount of your purchase is deducted from your Fenway Cash total.

Can I allocate Fenway Cash for specific purposes?
Yes. In general, Fenway Cash is good anywhere that accepts the Fenway Card. You may request, however, that Fenway Cash be allocated to a Bookstore only or Dining Services only account. Bookstore accounts may only be used to purchase items in the Simmons Bookstore and funds can be allocated to this account by visiting Student Financial Services, MCB W-207. Dining Service accounts may only be used at Dining Service locations on campus. You can purchase commuter dining plans online through Simmons Dining at the Simmons Campus Dish.

What's the advantage of using Fenway Cash?
Your purchases are pre-paid so you never have to worry about carrying cash, checks and credit cards. You cannot spend more than what you have put into your account. You just need your ID card with Fenway Cash to make purchases virtually anywhere you would use money on campus. You may also use the card at select off-campus merchants and the other five Colleges of the Fenway campuses. You will no longer have to run to the bank machine, scrounge for change, or search for your ATM card, credit card, copy card, checks or cash!

May I purchase alcohol or tobacco products with the Fenway Cash?
No, even if you are of legal age for these products, the merchant agreement stipulates that alcohol or tobacco products are to be paid for separately from Fenway Cash.

Can anyone buy and use Fenway Cash?
This feature is only available to students, faculty, staff and certain affiliates of Simmons University who meet the eligibility requirements. You must be 18 years of age or older and present a valid Simmons ID card with your name and photograph.

Can faculty and staff participate in this program?
Yes, faculty and staff will find Fenway Cash a convenient way to make purchases at all the locations on-campus, around the area and at other Colleges of the Fenway campuses.

How do I activate this feature and purchase Fenway Cash?
To activate the pre-paid service function, simply log onto the website. You may activate your account online, add value and manage your account 24/7. The Fenway Card Service Center is also available for assistance Monday through Friday (holidays excluded) from 8 am to 6 pm Eastern Time at 1-877-263-8340.
You may also visit the Campus Card Office located in the Palace Road Building, First Floor, Room P-107 during our regular business hours.

What forms of payment are accepted for Fenway Cash?

  • You may use cash, check or credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) at the Campus Card Office.
  • You may fax in a credit/debit card form to 617-521-3177. Please note that credit card forms must be completed and signed by the cardholder.
  • You may mail a check payable to Fenway Cash/Simmons to: Simmons University, Campus Card Office, 300 The Fenway, Boston, MA 02115.
  • You may use a credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) via the website or over the phone at 1-877-263-8340.
  • You may mail a check payable to Fenway Cash/Simmons to: Fenway Card Service Center, PO Box 1303, Doylestown, PA 18901-0117.

Once I buy Fenway Cash, can I make cash withdrawals?
No. Cash withdrawals and cash refunds cannot be issued. However, you can request a refund of the funds in your account and receive a check for the remaining amount. To apply for a refund, please send Fenway Card an email with your name, ID number, and mailing address.

How do I know how much Fenway Cash I have left?
Visit the website anytime to check your balance and transaction history.

Can I allow others to have access to my account records?
Yes. You may authorize others to view your account history and transactions.

What happens if I don't spend all of my Fenway Cash?
Fenway Cash left on your card at the end of the academic year is automatically rolled over for use during the coming year. When you leave the University, you must either use all of your remaining Fenway Cash or close your account.

Can a friend use my Fenway Card?
For your protection, your Fenway Card is non-transferable, and the only person authorized to use your card is you. You may, however, make purchases for your friend by using your card.

What should I do if my card is lost, stolen, misplaced or I suspect unauthorized use?
Once your Fenway Cash account is activated, your ID card should be treated like cash and protected accordingly. If your card is lost, stolen, misplaced or if you suspect someone is using your card without authorization, you should take the following two steps:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Visit the website, log onto your account, and deactivate your card. The website is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. An immediate deactivation and report will help keep any monetary loss to a minimum.
    • Call the Fenway Card Service Center at 1-877-263-8340, Monday through Friday (holidays excluded) from 8 am to 6 pm. During business hours, telephoning is the best way of minimizing possible losses.
    • Contact the Campus Card Office during regular business hours for assistance. Palace Road Building, First Floor, Room P-107. 617-521-2273.
  2. Contact the Office of Public Safety at 617-521-1112 to have your door access deactivated. The Public Safety phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

After your account is deactivated, you must come to the Campus Card Office to receive a new ID Card and reactivate your account. Your account cannot be reactivated until you visit the Campus Card Office. If your card was lost, stolen or misplaced, you will be charged a replacement card fee of $25.00. If you suspect unauthorized use, you may be asked to submit a written statement with the details of the transaction(s) in question. 

Are there any fees to use this pre-paid service feature?
There is no fee to activate the pre-paid service function. There are fees, however, for the following: lost, stolen, or misplaced card replacement $25, returned check $20, inactive account (no transactions for one calendar year) $25. You may close your account without the imposition of a fee by spending your Fenway Cash balance to zero.

Will my card still work during the summer?
Yes. Your Fenway Cash will remain active, semester-to-semester, year-to-year, until you leave the University upon graduation or withdrawal. When your affiliation with the University ends, you must either use your remaining Fenway Cash or close your account.

How do I get a refund of my unused balance?
Fenway Cash remains active as long as you are affiliated with the University and as long as you have Fenway Cash remaining. If you decide to close your account a check will be issued via normal University procedures for any remaining balance and sent to your permanent address.

The Fenway Card Agreement

The Fenway Card agreement and terms and conditions of use may be found in the footer of the Fenway Card website. You will have to agree with the terms and conditions before you activate your account.

Some Important Information About Your Fenway Cash Account:

Fees

We will not charge you a fee to establish or maintain your Account or for any Account transactions. We will, however, charge you the following fees associated or incurred with your use of your Account:

  • Replacing a lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced Card, $10.00
  • Returned check, $20.00
  • Inactive Account fee (no account activity within one calendar year), $25.00.

Eligibility

You are eligible for an Account if (a) you are 18 years of age or older, (b) you are a student or faculty or staff member of ours or of one of our affiliates, (c) we have issued you an identification card on which your name and photograph appear, and (d) you establish and maintain an Account for use with your Card. You will be required to provide us with evidence of your relationship with us upon our request. To establish an Account for use with your Card, you must agree to the Fenway Card Terms and Conditions of Use and activate your account by visiting www.fenwaycard.com and provide any other documentation that we may require from time to time. Your Application and other documents are subject to our review and approval. We reserve the right to reject your Application and other documentation and to refuse your use of the Card or other access your Account for any reason and in our sole discretion. If your Account closes, this Agreement will automatically terminate.
