Summer Study Abroad Opportunities
The best way to get started on a Summer Study Abroad application is to schedule an appointment by emailing us or attending one of the many study abroad events held on campus throughout the semester.
All majors are eligible to study abroad for a summer semester
Summer program and scholarship applications are due on March 15. All applicants are eligible to apply for scholarships distributed through the Center for Global Education. Applicants must apply to be considered.
Summer Study Abroad Opportunities allows students to select a location, program length and area of study that fits their academic needs. The following programs are recommended for Simmons students.
Featured Program: Granada Institute of International Studies
Simmons students have the unique opportunity to study abroad in Granada, Spain at the prestigious Granada Institute of International Studies (GRIIS). Simmons is proud to partner with GRIIS, an institution that since 2004 has provided culturally engaging summer, semester & academic year experiences for Simmons students.
For Summer Study Abroad Opportunities, students typically arrive in-country in late May/early June for the duration of four weeks and can enroll in either SPN 240 or SPN 253, two courses that are part of the Simmons curriculum for a Spanish major/minor. Homestay accommodation and a rich & diverse calendar of curricular opportunities in Granada (and Spain) are just some of the highlights of this Summer semester program, perfect for Spanish majors, minors, and those students looking to advance their Spanish cultural and language fluencies.
