Both undergraduate and graduate level Simmons students who are ready to graduate share their stories of growth and discovery, what excites them most about the journey ahead, and advice for current and incoming students.

  1. Emily Crown ’26

    Emily Crown ’26 reflects on her decision to major in Health and Exercise Science, the mentorship she received along the way, and the ways in which Simmons provided the opportunities, environment, and support she needed to be successful.

  2. Kimberly R. Lavoie

    Kimberly R. Lavoie PhD’26 reflects on the most impactful part of her doctoral journey: conducting dissertation research, examining how school librarians understand and enact their roles in post-pandemic K–12 education.

    Social work major and first-generation college student Kim Richard ’26 shares her journey as an online degree completion student and how Simmons has prepared her to deliver care to clients.

    Sydney Villegas ’26MS reflects on how she was encouraged to bring her interests and passions to her coursework and create projects that she was genuinely excited to explore as a graduate student in library and information science.

    Dr. Kathleen “Katie” Flynn ’26MPH reflects on choosing the master of public health (MPH) program due to its focus on health equity and the in-person learning experiences. She also discusses the program immersions and her Health Equity Change Project.

    Africana studies and international relations major Alexandra “Ale” Huamán ’26 reflects on four years at Simmons: getting involved in the Boston community, being a Barbara Lee Fellow, and studying abroad to name a few of the activities she packed in.

    Victoria Savoie ’26, a political science and communications major, reflects on her participation in the 2025 spring NYC Agency trip through the Department of Communications, the articles she wrote for the student-run news organization, The Simmons Voice, and her selection for the Barbara Lee Fellowship program.

  8. Fiona Coughlin ’26

    Fiona Coughlin ’26MS conducted an independent research project on building social media literacy skills for undergraduate students. To make this possible, she secured International Review Board approval to conduct interviews with the General Education faculty at Simmons, and grant funding from the Simmons Center for Information Literacy.

  9. Vanessa Iroegbulem ’26MSW

    Vanessa Iroegbulem ’26MSW reflects on two of the impactful experiences during her time at Simmons: her clinical placements and her participation in the Harm Reduction Training (HaRT) Scholars Program.

    Aurora Daniel ’26MSMA had the honor of serving as the president of the Library and Information Science Student Association, the student government for Simmons’ School of Library and Information Science while pursuing her Masters in Library and Information Science and Master of Arts in History.
