SLIS Graduate Student Assistantship
Each year, the School of Library and Information Science offers a number of paid assistantship positions that allow MSLIS students to gain valuable research and/or experiential learning. Graduate Student Assistants benefit from significantly reduced tuition through either a generous scholarship or tuition remission. Graduate Student Assistants also generate an income through the wages or stipend they earn in their paid assistantship position.
Graduate Student Assistants are MS LIS students paired with SLIS faculty with similar interests to support their research projects over two academic years. GSAs work 10 hours per week as part of their assistantship role. Additionally, GSAs receive a substantial tuition scholarship, amounting to coverage of two-thirds of the MS LIS tuition.
