Doctoral Hooding Ceremony #1

Doctoral candidates who complete their degree requirements between August 2025 and May 2026 are invited to participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony on Thursday, May 14, 2026. 

Each graduate will be individually recognized for their accomplishments and draped with a hood by their respective program director. The ceremony also includes a faculty and student speech, and concludes with a reception and social in the University Fens Cafe.

Please note that there are two hooding ceremonies on Thursday, May 14. The following programs will be recognized at the 1:00 pm ceremony:

  • PhD in Behavior Analysis
  • PhD in Health Professions Education
  • PhD in Library and Information Science
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Doctor of Social Work - Completed July/August 2025 

Graduates may bring up to 2 guests to the hooding ceremony and reception.

Any program not listed is being celebrated at the 3:00 pm ceremony.

Program Schedule

  • 12:15 PM - Graduates, faculty, and guests arrive; graduates line up for the procession (location TBA)
  • 1:00 PM - Ceremony begins in the Linda K. Paresky Conference Center
  • 2:00 PM - Reception in the Fens Cafe

Graduate Student Speaker

We are also accepting submissions for the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony student speaker until March 17! A doctoral candidate from each ceremony will be selected to compose and deliver a 3-minute opening speech. Interested candidates must submit an RSVP by the early deadline of March 17 to be considered for the speaker position.
