Student Research and Conference Awards

The Division of Student Engagement, Success, and Diversity (SESD) provides funding to students seeking to enrich their scholarly interests and professional development through independent research, creative endeavors, and participation in national or international conferences. 

Undergraduate Research and Conference Awards

  • Research Award

Undergraduate Student Research Fund

The Undergraduate Student Research Fund is a competitive award that provides up to $1,000 to undergraduate students conducting independent research/study projects or pursuing an artistic endeavor that advances their disciplinary field and/or professional goals.

  • Conference Award

Undergraduate Student Conference Fund

The Undergraduate Student Conference Fund provides up to $500 for undergraduate students to participate in an academic, research, or professional conference. Priority is granted to students who plan to present their work at a conference.

Graduate Research and Conference Awards

  • Not program-specific (available for all programs)
  • Research Award

Graduate Student Research Fund

The Graduate Student Research Fund Award is a competitive, merit-based award that provides up to $1,500 to Doctoral and Master’s students conducting independent research or pursuing an artistic endeavor that advances their disciplinary field and/or professional goals. An application is required.

  • Not program-specific (available for all programs)
  • Conference Award

Graduate Student Conference Fund

The Graduate Student Conference Fund provides up to $500 to Doctoral and Master’s students to participate in an academic or professional conference. Preference will be given to candidates who are presenting at a conference. An application is required.
