Need-based funding for undergraduates
Imagine receiving money for your education that you never have to pay back. That’s exactly what grants offer you. Simmons offers a variety of grants designed for undergraduate students who show financial need.

Institutional grants
- Simmons Grant: This program awards grants to you if you demonstrate need, as determined by information you provide on the FAFSA form.
Federal grants
You must meet federal financial aid eligibility requirements to be considered for these need-based grants. Review the federal basic eligibility requirements for more information.
- Federal Pell Grant: This federal program awards grants to you as an undergraduate if you demonstrate exceptional financial need. The federal government sets award amounts annually.
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant: This federal program provides supplemental grants to you as an undergraduate if you demonstrate exceptional need and are also receiving a Federal Pell Grant.
Massachusetts grants
You must meet the Massachusetts residency requirements to be eligible for any Massachusetts state need-based grants.
- MASSGrant: This State program provides grants to you as a full-time undergraduate if you demonstrate exceptional financial need.
- Gilbert Grant: This state program provides supplemental grants to you as a full-time undergraduate if you demonstrate financial need. Funding is limited.
