Simmons MS + Brigham and Women’s Hospital Dietetic Internship

Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is a world‑class Harvard Medical School teaching hospital and international leader in patient care, biomedical research, and medical innovation, and is consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the U.S.BWH offers an 11‑month clinically-focused dietetic internship. Interns in the BWH Dietetic Internship Program receive experiences in acute inpatient care, outpatient services, community nutrition, food service management, and research in the field of nutrition.

The Simmons MS + BWH DI partnership allows student-interns to complete requirements for the MS program and the DI over a two year period. Students complete the MS program fulltime, on campus or fully online, during the first year and complete the BWH DI program fulltime in Boston during the second year. The MS program must be completed before the DI program begins.

  • Receive well-rounded training through the broader MS Nutrition and Health Promotion curriculum and the high level clinical training and expertise of the BWH internship program.
  • The MS program offers an elective course in advanced medical nutrition therapy that can support clinical rotations.
  • The expedited application process uses the DICAS application for both programs.

Applying to the Partnership Program

Application to the partnership program is made through the Simmons DICAS portal. Applicants indicate they want to apply to the Simmons MS + BWH partnership program and will be prompted to complete the BWH supplemental form. Application materials are shared with BWH, and Simmons notifies applicants of admission decisions. BWH may request individual interviews with applicants during the application review process.
