Focus Groups on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Office of Organizational Culture, Inclusion and Equity will be conducting focus groups to gather feedback and input for planning on issues surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a valued community member, we need your participation to become an inclusive campus. Your voice, experience, and presence are important to us, and we want you to candidly share your perceptions and experiences related to respect and civility, individual expression, support, and Simmons commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion practices on campus.
We will host 12 focus groups in November and December. The sessions will last no longer than 90 minutes, with a maximum of 12 participants in each session. Please join one of the sessions where we will:
- Share perspectives on who we are, how we live/work, who we are becoming
- Discuss strategy for diversity, equity and inclusion
- Create the conditions for respectful discourse
We want to hear from you as your views will will inform how we all create an organizational culture that results in an open, curious, authentic, brave and equitable classroom and workplace experience for everyone, and reflects our value statement: “We honor the humanity, dignity, and individuality of each member of our Simmons community.”
Important note: Feedback from focus group discussions will be reported only in the aggregate and without attribution. The identity of all focus group participants will not be public. Discussions will be kept strictly confidential.
The last day to register for focus groups is November 14th.
