Jiarui Sun

Assistant Professor

Jiarui Sun is an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Science at Simmons University, where he teaches courses in the archives and cultural heritage informatics concentrations. His research focuses on everyday archiving practices, digital recordkeeping, and global archival scholarship, with particular attention to the social, cultural, and affective dimensions of archival work. His research has been supported by the Beta Phi Mu International Honor Society for Library and Information Science and the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, and he has received multiple awards from professional organizations, including the Society of American Archivists and the Society of California Archivists. Prior to joining Simmons, he earned his PhD in Information Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
