Amanda Durocher

Amanda Durocher, Ed.D., is Assistant Director of the Department of Education and Assistant Teaching Professor at Simmons University, Gwen Ifill School of Media, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She brings more than 15 years of experience in special education, autism education, teacher preparation, applied behavior analysis, professional development, educational technology, and university-community partnerships.

Areas of Expertise

Durocher’s scholarly interests include disability awareness, ableism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, special education, teacher preparation, and inclusive educational practices. Her doctoral scholarship examined awareness of ableism in intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is committed to preparing educators to recognize barriers to inclusion and to develop educational environments that support meaningful participation and opportunity for students with disabilities.
