The Whiting Foundation provides travel funds to faculty in New England to "study abroad or at some location or locations other than that with which they are most closely associated" in order to improve and enhance the quality of their teaching. This opportunity is open to both full and part-time faculty.

The Center For Faculty Excellence will be hosting an Whiting Fellowship Information Session and Q&A on Thursday, November 12 from 10-10:45am.

Professor Arpita Saha from the Chemistry & Physics Department was awarded a Whiting Fellowship in 2026; she'll share stories of her experience with the foundation and her three-week trip to Kenya in June 2026 to study the ethnobotanical and biochemical properties of medicinal plants. Noelle Strom, Associate Director of Research and Sponsored Programs in CFE, will provide an overview of the application process and will be available for questions.

This session will be recorded for those unable to attend live; email [email protected] to request a copy of the recording.
