Professor Renée Bergland of the Department of Literature and Writing at The Gwen Ifill School for Media, Humanities, and Social Sciences has received a public scholar grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
Bergland’s book project, Moby-Dick: The Story of a Great American Novel, examines the creation of Moby-Dick (1851) by American novelist Herman Melville (1819–1891) and its shifting reception from publication to the present.
