Worcester’s Telegram and Gazette chronicled the journeys of two local siblings, Ava and Ella Askren, who served as consecutive valedictorians at Clinton High School (in 2024 and 2025, respectively). Ella Askren, an academically-driven student and accomplished athlete, will attend Simmons in Fall 2025. At Simmons, she plans to study physical therapy and play soccer.
Ava Askren, currently a student at Boston University, “couldn't have been happier,” regarding Ella’s achievement. “I was just so [happy] because I know how hard she has worked for it. I'm so proud of her," Ava says.
In turn, Ella Askren expressed how she derived motivation from Ava’s success. “Being so close in age I felt like I should be striving to be like her, because I look up to her," she says.
