Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival that spans nine nights and ten days, celebrating the divine feminine, or Shakti. The festival's name literally means "nine nights" (nava for nine and ratri for nights). It commemorates the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

During Navaratri, each of the nine nights is dedicated to a different form of Goddess Durga, often categorized in threes to honor her as the destroyer of evil (Durga), the giver of wealth (Lakshmi), and the bestower of knowledge (Saraswati).
