Magha Puja Day (also known as Sangha Day or Fourfold Assembly Day) is observed on the day of the full moon in the third lunar month (Magha), which typically occurs in late February or early March of the Gregorian calendar.

Magha Puja commemorates the spontaneous gathering of 1,250 Arhats (Saints of disciples) at Veruvana Monestary in Rajagaha, India where they heard Buddha's first sermon. This is why it's also called the "Fourfold Assembly Day."
