Nursing and Health Sciences
Dean's Scholarships
A limited number of Dean's merit scholarships are offered by the School of Nursing. Newly admitted Direct Entry nursing and DPT applicants who will be enrolled full-time are automatically considered for merit scholarships at the time of application review. Although not the only requirement, applicants must have a 3.5 overall GPA and a 3.5 GPA in the science prereqs. No separate application is required for these competitive awards. Selected students will be informed of such awards in their letters of admission.
Accepted students may defer their enrollment for one academic year but the scholarship does not automatically carry forward to the future term of enrollment. Students will be re-considered. The new award amount may be different than the original award depending upon the competitiveness of the new applicant pool. Awards are canceled if a student withdraws, takes a Leave of Absence or is academically dismissed from the program.
Assistantships
Assistantships for accepted nursing (campus-based programs), nutrition and physical therapy students are determined after a student has been enrolled. Stipends are merit-based and depend on faculty needs and individual student skills.
Scholarships and assistantships alone will not cover the entire cost of tuition or other educational expenses.
Merit scholarships and assistantships are not available for the Certificate in Sports Nutrition (CSN),DNP, PhD in Health Professions , any CAGS or other certificate programs.
Financial Aid low-interest loans are available for U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
