We love our Simmons Sharks! We have 10 NCAA Division III varsity intercollegiate teams — which form the core of the Simmons University athletics program.

Women athletes are the top — and only — priority in the varsity sports program. Unlike coeducational institutions where women's teams often take a back seat to the men's programs, Simmons gives the Sharks the best practice times, outstanding equipment and facilities, funding, and the undivided support of students who cheer on the athletes.

Many of Simmons' competitive athletes are recruited out of high school, but many skilled walk-ons get the opportunity to play. All Simmons athletes are students first. To enjoy the glory of athletic achievement, they must possess the desire to study and compete in an environment that rewards and respects academic excellence.

Simmons belongs to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), and is an associate member of the New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). All teams take on worthy opponents outside the GNAC such as MIT, Tufts, Brandeis, Smith and Wellesley, among others.
