Wherever You Are In Your Nursing Journey…
Whether it’s taking your first step into the field or advancing within the profession, Simmons School of Nursing can help you go further.
Simmons’ School of Nursing is home to one of the country’s first university-based nursing programs and we are proud to remain among the best programs in the field, recognized for clinical excellence, and preparing future leaders in health care through a diverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. We educate nurses to provide compassionate and evidence-based care, advocate for patients and communities, lead interprofessional teams, and advance research.
Our strengths include nationally acclaimed faculty, alumnae/i who are recognized leaders in their fields, and an ideal Boston location that is steps away from the world-renowned hospitals and healthcare facilities of the Longwood Medical Area. We offer a distinctly collaborative academic community that one rarely finds at larger universities. You'll receive direct and frequent access to faculty who know your name and understand your goals. Small classes and group tutorials, case study analyses, seminars, team research, intensive clinical experiences, and a state-of-the-art simulation center all contribute to a personal and very practical learning experience. Share your goals with us on the form, and we’ll share more about the programs that can help you accomplish them.
One of my favorite parts of being a Simmons nursing student is that clinical placements are close by, in a variety of leading Boston hospitals. I have enjoyed patient-care experiences at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Tufts Medical Center, and more.

HoloAnatomy Augmented Reality & HoloNeuroAnatomy
Simmons School of Nursing Program Leads the Way: Pioneering Integration of Augmented and Virtual Reality in Nursing Education! Simmons has become one of only two Nursing programs in the United States to be actively integrating Anatomy and Physiology augmented reality software (HoloAnatomy) into its curriculum. We've also adopted virtual reality nursing simulation into the clinical curriculum (UbiSim) in addition to high fidelity simulation.
Simulation Lab allows me to learn in a controlled environment. I’m able to learn from my mistakes and ask questions based on real-life scenarios that involve culture, language, and different health issues, giving me the confidence to go into my clinical rotations and future career as a nurse.

Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program

The overarching purpose of the Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program is to enhance the educational experience and success of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students enrolled in the nursing program by providing academic, clinical, professional, and personal support.
The Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program is an amazing resource for minority nursing students at Simmons. As a first generation Latina, the mentorship and academic resources offered by the program and its mentors, such as test taking skills and leadership skills, has allowed me to excel in my nursing courses and clinicals throughout my undergraduate nursing career.
