Carla Harris

Find out who in history Carla Harris would dine with!

Carla Harris is Vice Chairman of Global Wealth Management and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley.

Which female leader do you most admire? In what way has she driven change?

Shirley Chisholm and Barbara Jordan. Both were unafraid to use their voices and extraordinary oratorical skills to get people to listen and to thereby provoke change with their arguments, delivery and compelling logic. They understood that there is power in your voice and that it should never be submerged, for when you submerge your voice, you submerge and lose your power.

If you could change one way women support other women on their path to success, what would it be?

I wish that more women would understand that if they are invited into the decision-making room, then they have a responsibility to participate and to speak, particularly on behalf of another woman. Too many are afraid of what others will think if they are vocal and support another woman. We should be unapologetic in that support.

If you could dine with anyone, past or present, with whom would you dine and what would you like to ask him or her?

Jesus. Question: “You came to earth so that you could experience our humanity. Is the message that we are to share in your divinity and if so, what does that mean? How do we do it?”
