Maddie Brodeur

Maddie works in Admissions at Simmons. She answered a few questions!

Where are you from? Where did you go to college?

Scarborough, Maine -- I went to Northeastern University, Class of 2014. BS in economics & political science.

What's your favorite thing about Simmons?

The unique community where you can do and be anything you want because you know everyone is here to support you and make it happen!

What's your favorite part of your job?

I love traveling to different parts of the U.S. and meeting students at their high schools.

What should students look for when choosing a college?

Fit over name recognition. A great name could be a fine fit for a student but if that's the only reason you're looking at a school it could spell trouble down the road when you're there and realize they don't have the major you want, are too big or small, etc.

If we visited your office, what would we see?

Color! I have tons of Lilly Pulizter stuff to brighten up my windowless office. I also collect mugs from different places I travel and have them displayed. There are also pictures of my family and friends to always keep a smile on my face!

What's your favorite thing to do in Boston?

I love trying new restaurants! There is a restaurant on every corner and any cuisine you could think of. Branch out -- but also frequent your old favorites every now and again.

What music are you currently listening to?

Country! Love the easy going nature of country music. Taylor Swift, Sam Hunt and Luke Bryan.

Favorite movie?

Hands down it's Forrest Gump. I am always amazed by how much that man lived in that movie and all he saw. I also learned quite a bit about U.S. history when I first watched it when I was around 12-13 years old.

Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

Taylor Swift -- because then she would know who I am and we could become best friends. More realistically because I am not 6 feet tall and blond, Anna Kendrick. Fun fact: she went to high school down the street from me in Maine.

What's your favorite local lunch?

Parish Café. I have two favorite dishes there, the mac & cheese and Sean's Simple Chicken!

What's your dream vacation?

Savannah, Georgia or Charleston, South Carolina. Love southern culture, good food and southern hospitality!
