Pathway Programs

4+4 B.A./B.S to M.D

Simmons University holds a partnership with St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada!

Simmons students who are accepted to the pathway, complete four years of pre-medical coursework, have maintained a a 3.4 overall GPA and a 3.2 Science GPA, and scored competitively (within 5 points of the average) on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) will automatically be granted admission to a four-year program at the St. George's School of Medicine. School of Medicine students who participate in the 4+4 program receive a $10,000 scholarship from St. George's distributed over their four years of study and are eligible for additional scholarships and grants.

Required Courses

  • One year of Biology with a lab
  • One year of Inorganic Chemistry with a lab
  • One year Organic Chemistry with a lab
  • One semester of Physics with a lab
  • One semester of Math: Calculus, Computer Science, or Statistics
  • One semester of English

Strongly recommended courses include:

  • One additional semester of Physics
  • Two semesters of Social Science (Psychology or Sociology)
  • A semester in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Physiology.

Simmons now offers two tracks to earn your Doctor in Physical Therapy:

Simmons 4+2 BS in Exercise Science to MS in Athletic Training

Students meeting certain criteria have the opportunity to articulate directly into any of the affiliated MSAT programs:

4+3 B.S to D.O.T (Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program)

Simmons has an articulation agreement that allows qualified exercise science majors a pathway to pursuing Occupational Therapy at Western New England University.

4+3 B.S. Exercise Science to D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic)

Simmons has an articulation agreement that allows qualified exercise science majors a pathway to pursuing Chiropractic at Cleveland University Kansas-City's (CUKC) College of Chiropractic.
