Clinical focus, real-world preparation.

The Master of Social Work (MSW) program within Simmons University’s School of Social Work is known for its exceptional quality and focus on clinical training. Our program prepares you for a career as a skilled therapist or clinical social worker. You’ll be ready to advance social justice and make an immediate impact on the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

Through our on-campus and hybrid programs, which offer full-time and part-time options, you’ll gain a strong foundation in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment. You’ll benefit from dedicated faculty mentors, small class sizes, and extensive internship opportunities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Clinical Social Work in the Heart of Boston

At Simmons University, you’ll study at one of the few schools in the nation dedicated exclusively to clinical social work. You’ll take courses, complete practicum placements, and work closely with faculty to build your expertise as a clinical practitioner and therapist. Located in Boston, a hub for healthcare, behavioral health, and community services, Simmons offers unmatched opportunities to develop your skills and build lasting connections in the field.

“I was learning interventions in class that I could practice with a client the next day. The clinical simulation lab and faculty-mentored practicum placements challenged me to think on my feet, integrate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic relationships, all before I graduated. By the time I walked into my first job, I felt prepared to step in as a clinician.”
