When we witness or endure street harassment or assault, how can we respond meaningfully and safely? Together with Impact Boston, we are hosting workshops on campus to teach safe tactics and responses to street harassment and sexual harassment based in racism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and xenophobia.

Impact Boston takes an empowerment-based and survivor-centered approach to self-defense. Workshops present safety strategies in a manner which holds harassers accountable and avoids victim-blaming. Attendees are given full autonomy in interactive roleplaying scenarios and will decide which scenarios to engage in and what language should be used, both to ensure real-life relevance and to avoid serious triggers.

This workshop is two hours long and will be held on three separate dates to accommodate student schedules. Training is open to graduate and undergraduate students. Registration will be required as space is limited.
