Alumnae/i Association Award Nomination Form

The Simmons College Alumnae Association is proud to present several alumnae awards annually to recognize, honor, and celebrate exceptional accomplishments and careers, as well as service to the community and the College.

The Alumnae Association Awards Committee is now accepting nominations for the following awards which will be presented at the Alumnae Association Awards Brunch at Simmons College during our 2017 Reunion Weekend:

Recent Alumna Achievement Award
The Recent Alumna Achievement Award recognizes an alumna who graduated within the previous 10 years and who has made outstanding contributions to Simmons College and in professional or civic fields of endeavor. The candidate should also demonstrate promise for continuing service and leadership to Simmons and in her field.  First awarded in 2004, the Recent Alumna Achievement Award may also recognize a recipient who has demonstrated accomplishments in her career choice and recognition in other volunteer efforts.
Alumnae Service Award
Established in 1964 by the Alumnae Association, the Alumnae Service Award recognizes an alumna who has demonstrated dedicated service to the Alumnae Association through her leadership in class, club, and/or Alumnae Association programs and committees. This award seeks to honor an alumna who has served Simmons and the Alumnae Association with dedication through leadership, and who has exhibited an outstanding and ongoing commitment to the College and the Association. Criteria for recognition may include extensive work with clubs, class, the Association and/or students; fundraising, visibility created for Simmons College and longevity and dedication in leadership roles.
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award is a wonderful opportunity to recognize an undergraduate alumna for her outstanding achievements and to celebrate her commitment to the community and beyond. This award honors an undergraduate alumna whose lifetime accomplishments have brought her to the top of her field of endeavor. The committee welcomes nominations that reflect the diversity of Simmons women and their many avenues of achievement.
Community Service Award
Established in 1999 by the Alumnae Association, the Community Service Award was created in support of Simmons's commitment to community service, and as a means of recognizing the long history of alumnae commitment to their communities and volunteer organizations. This award seeks to recognize an alumna who has made a significant volunteer contribution to the world around her, and who has undertaken unique and innovative approaches to solving community issues and bettering the world. The goal of the Community Service Award is to recognize an undergraduate alumna who is actively engaged in voluntary service that benefits her local or regional community, a specific non-profit group, or the national or international community.
Athletics Hall of Fame Award
The Athletics Hall of Fame Award recognizes an alumna athlete who graduated at least five years ago and was a varsity team member of the sport for which she is being nominated. The candidate must have made a positive impact on the team(s) for which she played, including demonstrated athletic achievement, exemplary leadership qualities and character, and/or a significant contribution to the community. An honoree may be inducted posthumously.
Priscilla Mckee Award

The Priscilla McKee Award, established by the Alumnae/i Association in 1988, is presented annually to one member of the faculty or staff of the College in recognition of exceptional service to the Simmons community. Priscilla McKee, Vice President of the College from 1979 to 1988, was noted for her intense dedication to the best interests of the College. In recognition of her 31 years of service to Simmons, the Executive Board of the Alumnae Association voted unanimously to make her an honorary member and established the Priscilla McKee Faculty/Staff Award for outstanding service to Simmons.

This award is presented at Faculty/Staff Day in April. The McKee Award is a surprise for the recipient.
