Visit SLIS

The best way to get a feel for our graduate programs and the SLIS community is to visit our campus. The Admission Office offers a variety of visit options to suit your needs.

Attend an Information Session

We offer monthly information sessions at our Boston campus, SLIS West campus in South Hadley, MA and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, MA. If you’ve never visited campus before, we highly recommend attending an information session first. You can schedule a personal visit if you have additional questions after attending the session.

Fairs and Conferences

Simmons SLIS Graduate Admission representatives travel to a variety of graduate school fairs and conferences throughout the year. Below is a list of events we will be attending in the coming months. If we will be in your area and you are able to attend one of the below events, please let us know you're coming by emailing

We look forward to meeting you and discussing our programs!

June 22-27, 2017 - ALA Annual Conference, Chicago, IL

July 23 -29, 2017 - SAA Annual Conference, Portland, OR

Request a Personal Visit

If you are unable to attend an information session, we offer personalized visits for students interested in our master's degrees. If you are interested in our post-master's certificates, please contact our office. If you are interested in the Ph.D. program, please email to coordinate a visit. For prospective master's students, personal visits can include informational interviews, tours, an opportunity to speak with a Graduate Student Ambassador, and to sit in on a class.

If you are planning to visit the Boston campus, appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:30pm. If you wish to visit the SLIS West campus in South Hadley, MA, appointments are available on Saturdays between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Please note: personal visits cannot be conducted at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

If you are planning to visit campus within the next 3 business days, please contact our Admission Coordinator at 617-521-2868 or to ensure that your visit can be accommodated. If you are interested in sitting in on a class or meeting with a faculty member, please provide at least two weeks' notice for planning purposes.
