Student Jobs

Working part-time allows you to contribute to the cost of your educational investment, as well as to gain valuable work experience. The Career Education Center will assist you in finding work both while you are a student and once you graduate.

We've summarized your student employment options below, but please be sure to visit their page for more detailed information!

Federal Work-Study Program

Many Simmons students are awarded Federal Work-Study as part of their financial aid package. This federally funded program provides part-time employment for students with demonstrated financial need. In order for your Financial Aid Officer to review your eligibility for Federal Work-Study you must indicate 'yes' on your FAFSA when asked if you are interested in the program.

Please note that Work-Study is not applicable to your bill like the other awards you may receive. It must be earned—the old fashioned way—by getting a job.

All students with Federal Work-Study eligibility can find information on the job application process and a listing of on-campus and community service opportunities on the student employment page. It is up to you, the student, to look and apply for Work-Study positions.

Note that if you get a job at Simmons, you must complete an I-9 and a W-4 with the Student Payroll Office before you begin working at the College. For more information on the I-9 and W-4 forms, please contact the Payroll Office.

Work-Study is a great way to earn spending money, and is also a great way to get involved in the community!

General/Part-time Employment

For students who have not been awarded Federal Work-Study funds, there are still many other work opportunities within the Simmons Community. In order to provide both on- and off-campus employment to all students, the College has made funds available through its various departments for "general employment". These additional positions are available to students regardless of financial need.

If you are a new student, a current listing of positions is available on Simmons' Career site. If you are a returning student, you can search for and apply for jobs through Workday.
