Congrats! You have submitted your FAFSA and are on your way to receiving your financial aid from Simmons!

Depending on the time of year, it may take some time to hear back from us. Generally speaking, award letters for incoming first year students begin to be mailed mid-December and award letters for returning students are mailed mid-June. First-year student awards are completed first each year so that they have time to evaluate their options before the deposit decision deadline of May 1st. For an early estimate of how much and what types of aid a first-year, full-time undergraduate student may qualify for, visit our Net Price Calculator.

Know Your Options

In the meantime, please use this waiting period to begin to formulate your financial plan for attending Simmons. There are a variety of funding opportunities available that you can use in any combination that works best for your situation. If you have not already done so, please take a look at our many grants and scholarships, loans, and payment methods.

Now what?

Welcome back! Hopefully you've found a few funding possibilities that you are eligible for and you think might work for you. Now it's just a matter of knowing how much you will need to cover. Simmons will do its best to offer as much assistance as we can, but often families will have a portion of the bill to account for each semester. Since you likely do not have an award letter or a bill at this point, it would be difficult to finalize your plan when you're not really sure how much you will need to contribute. However once you receive your award letter, you can estimate your costs.

Action Items: How much?

In order to calculate your estimated costs, you will need the following:

  1. Our Financial Planning Worksheet
  2. Your Award Letter
  3. Our Tuition and Fees
    - Please be aware that tuition and fees change each year at the start of the fall semester. Make sure your estimates are calculated based on the correct year's information!

Just fill in the blanks of the worksheet based on the figures from your award letter and our Tuition and Fees page. This can be a little overwhelming because it is a lot of information. Just take your time and know that you can contact us if you have any questions during the process!

Status Check!

At this point you should have an estimate for the year and a tentative plan as to how you will cover your costs.
