Early Arrival Request

Official Move-In Days for the Fall 2022 semester are September 2 for First-Year and Transfer Students and September 3 for Returning Students. Any student who is requesting to move in early for a reason other than belonging to an approved group (Athletics, Orientation Leaders/Captains, Resident Advisors, Street Team, New International Students, BRIDGE Program, Bonner Community Leaders or Admissions Ambassadors) must complete the Early Arrival Request form. Members of approved groups do not need to submit the form. We will receive your name from your coach or program leader.

During the month of August, the University is servicing campus and conferences and pre-season training for university athletes. The university prepares each room for the arrival of the next occupant. Therefore your assigned room may not be ready by the early arrival date you are requesting. Students may be assigned to a temporary space as we are preparing their Fall 2023 housing assignment.

Students who plan to arrive on their designated Move-In Day (September 2 for First-Year and Transfer Students or September 3 for Returning Students) do not need to fill out the form.

The earliest date students can request to arrive on campus is August 22. All students arriving early will be charged a daily rate of $32 (if not a part of an approved group). Unfortunately, we will not be able to approve all requests to arrive early. All requests will be reviewed individually. Early arrival requests will only be considered for the following reasons: Housing Insecurity, Travel, Internship, or a Job. The deadline to submit a request is August 8. To request access to the form, please email us at [email protected].

If a student’s housing assignment changes for any reason, we ask that they resubmit the form to reflect their new housing assignment. We will accept the latest submission to reflect their true arrival day and time. Please keep in mind the form will close on August 8 and changes cannot be made after that point.

A response to student requests will be given within at least two weeks of submission.

NOTE: All students admitted to Simmons University must submit proof of full COVID vaccination status or receive an approved exemption. Communication from the University about how to provide documentation, process for exemption, and other COVID-19 guidelines will be shared prior to move-in.

Please direct all questions regarding Early Arrival requests to [email protected].
