Break Housing

Simmons University offers break housing for Fall, Spring, Winter and Summer break periods. During these periods dining halls are closed and residents must find an alternative source of meals. Due to construction projects occurring on the residence campus during break periods, residents staying on campus may be reassigned to temporary room locations for part of or the duration of the break period. Residents registered to stay will be notified prior to the start of each break, if relocation is needed. Residence Life staff members are on-call during break periods and available to provide assistance.

For Fall Break and Spring Break, the residence halls remain open to all current residents free of charge. Students who wish to stay are required to register through The Office of Residence Life. This accounting of who is on-campus is important for construction project planning and in case of emergency.

Winter Break housing is available for students, who are current residents and returning to the residence halls for the Spring semester. Students must apply and be approved to stay during Winter Break. The application will be released in early November. There is a nightly charge. In Fall 2021, the nightly charge was $25.

Summer Break housing is available for students during All Summer Session, Summer Session I and Summer Session II. Students eligible for summer housing must be registered for summer courses at Simmons, participating in a Simmons academic program, or working on campus. Summer housing rates can be found on the Tuition & Fees web page.
