2020 Virtual Symposium of Undergraduate Research and Creativity

Because of circumstances related to COVID-19, Simmons was not able to host its annual on-campus Symposium this year. Instead, Symposium presenters were invited to deliver a video presentation of their work in the 2020 Virtual Showcase of Undergraduate Research and Creativity at Simmons.

Celebrating Undergraduate Scholarship

The Symposium is a time-honored tradition that recognizes and celebrates undergraduate scholarship. Students share their work, often the culmination of a semester or year-long engagement in a project, with their peers, faculty, staff, supervisors, family and friends, and other members of the community. In addition, the Symposium provides a forum for further exploration and discussion of various topics within a larger context.

In spite of the physical limitations imposed by current provisions, 213 students in the arts, media, humanities, social sciences, policy and practice, and the natural, behavioral, health, and data sciences, submitted their work to be exhibited in the inaugural video showcase of undergraduate research and creativity. This exhibit is a testimony to the resilience, creativity, and resourcefulness of the Simmons undergraduate student body. These presentations were created by individuals and groups of students, and reflect a variety of opinions and perspectives.
