Undergraduate Student Conference Fund

The UG Student Conference Fund provides up to $500 for undergraduates to present at conferences.

Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from currently enrolled undergraduate students who plan to present at an academic or professional conference.

Recipients of the UG Student Conference Fund award will be reimbursed for approved expenses, which may include conference fees, transportation, lodging (if applicable), and/or printing or digital publishing. In lieu of a check reimbursement, Simmons may accommodate recipients of the award with purchasing conference registrations. For more information, contact [email protected].

Application

Applications are reviewed on the 15th of each month and will be accepted on a rolling basis as long as funds are available. Applications include:

  • Project Title
  • Names of co-authors
  • Faculty Advisor
  • Discipline
  • Conference Name and Date
  • Project/Presentation Abstract (300 words max.)
  • Short answer question: Explain how presenting at this conference will help you reach your academic and/or career goals.
  • Official notification confirming your participation, such as a conference page that shows your name or a confirmation letter/email from the conference organizer.
  • Budget (typically includes conference fees and printing or digital publishing expenses)

Please note that if any co-presenters are planning to apply for funding to present at the same conference, each attendee must submit a separate application.
