Athletics and Fitness

We know that our students thrive when they're healthy and active, which is why we offer a wide variety of health, recreation, and fitness programming.

Looking to stay active at Simmons?

Recreation and Wellness activity at Simmons centers around the Holmes Sports Center on the Residential Campus and the Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement on the Academic Campus, the home base of the Wellness Ambassador program. Whether you’re stretching it out in a Fit at Simmons yoga class, learning how to do cardio or lift weights in our 'intro to' classes, riding one of our free Peloton bikes, running on the indoor track, swimming laps in the pool, using the elliptical, or learning about health and wellness best practices, there are endless opportunities for students to get involved.

As members of the Colleges of the Fenway, a consortium of five neighboring schools, we have access to even more health and wellness student organizations, like the COF Dance Company – and intramural sports from tennis to rugby.

We’re also home to the Simmons Sharks, members of the Great Northeastern Athletic Conference (GNAC) and the New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) for rowing. Many of our Sharks train at the Holmes Sports Center on the Residential Campus or at Daly Field, our environmentally sustainable athletic complex which features NCAA standard-sized tennis courts, softball diamond, field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse fields.
