The implementation of the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") has encountered many major difficulties, but achieved many major successes. Beneath the loud headlines lies an extensive restructuring of the American health care system, which will challenge healthcare managers for a generation — to reduce costs, to improve quality, and to extend access to historically under-served populations.
This seminar will place the heated controversy of health reform in context, and describe the most important difficulties that will bring to healthcare managers in Boston and the nation. The talk will include an opportunity for members of the audience to discuss some of the early challenges they already have confronted, and how they think managers should train to succeed in this difficult environment.
